Gulf of Papagayo- Costa Rica
We are located in the northwestern Pacific side of Costa Rica, known as the Gulf of Papagayo. Papagayo is recognized world wide for its spectacular coastline. Large and abundant species such as whales, pods of dolphins, marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, roosterfish, snapper, grouper, amberjack, mackerel, jack crevalle, and various types of turtles inhabit in the Gulf of Papagayo. But, lets not forget all the small creatures that you can find by putting on your mask such as octopus, schools of fish, starfish, seahorse and more.
The Gulf of Papagayo is a perfect place to practice inshore and offshore fishing due to the fertile waters throughout the year.
Some species are more prevalent during different periods of the year, with the peak season being April - November.
In the waters of the national park Santa Rosa, are the famed Witches Rock and Ollies point, both with world class surfing breaks. Due to their inaccessibility by land, a 30-40 minute boat trip allows surfers to enjoy these stunning destinations.
